Happy New Year, You Dogs!

Happy New Year, You Dogs!

Hope I didn’t shock you and you thought I was being abusive! No, I was trying to add a bit of humour so sorry it you took it the wrong way.

But Happy New Year!

At least to all our Chinese friends around the globe. I had a chinese family stay at my B&B over the last 3 nights and their little girl made me a balloon and presented it to me as they left this morning. She made it yesterday on their New Years Eve.

I assume the golden diamonds inside the ballon (can you see them?) is part of the tradition that children give away red enveloped stuffed

with ‘lucky money’ and positive wishes on New Year’s Day.  And of course its year of the dog, which was what my ‘play’ on

the subject line was all about 🙂

So they say anyone born in an ‘Earth Dog’ year will be comunicative,
serious and responsible in the workplace. Good for anyone who

wants to be a ‘worker’.

So when were you born? I found this on the net…..If you were born in one of the years of the dog you are supposed to be…..

Men: straightforward and genuine. They are energetic, though they’re more pessimistic inside. Very opinionated, they’re always ready to correct others and defend their stance. It’s not that they want to show off. They just feel it’s necessary to help others realise their mistakes. These men care deeply for their family. Their stubbornness fades in the face of their loved ones. They work to understand and compromise, resulting in a harmonious family life.

Women: very cautious. They are indifferent towards people they don’t like, and don’t trust easily. But once they do, it’s permanent. They are intensely protective of their friends

and family. They are genial and independent. They love outdoor activities and being in nature. However, they are also hard workers and don’t give up until they succeed. Security and a stable income are her requirements for a career.

Just like the characteristics of the Dog, you can attribute certain characteristics to Entrepreneurs.

For example I have seen:

1. Many are courageous – you need courage to ‘go out there and forge what seems your own destiny, rather than a mapped career through a set up in a company.

2. A lot of them are great problem solvers because there are lots of problems you have to get over and there is no-one there to do it for you. You just have to get on with it and because you do you get great practise and take on more problems to solve thereby getting more and more successful.

3. They don’t give up but keep going until they get a result. Even then that result may not be the ultimate result of success but the first of many. As Thomas Edison said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’t work.”

4. Entrepreneurs realise they have to invest both their time and their money to build a business. So many people out there expect they can just be successful out of thin air. Sorry,
wrong attitude.

5. Many like myself are adventurous, want new things happening, are ready and willing to do whatever it takes to get to their goals. There are many more and as you read my emails you will get to know many more of the characteristics you will need to succeed in business.

In fact as I have just won a landslide Video Competition I will be
doing an interview as to exactly how I did it and much of it is to do with problem solving and marketing. Look out for the recording I will probably post it next week.

For now how about enjoying the Chinese New Year with our Chinese friends around the world and treat yourself to a new venture, here!

Have a great day!
